### **Jira Custom fields for attributes mapping**

Mindpro Sync's "**Mapping**" tab allows you to map user attributes of the connected IdP directly to Jira custom fields.

On this screen, you will see two columns: A column displaying the **list of attributes available **for mapping the connected IdP and a **list with the Jira Custom fields** to be mapped and receive attribute values.

Mindpro Sync uses **read-only Jira custom fields** for attribute mapping, as these fields **are not displayed to users** when creating a request in the Jira Service Management portal form.

So, when you access the “Mapping” tab for the first time, and **if you do not have **any **read-only custom field** created, the app will show you the message below:

There are two ways to create your Jira custom fields using the app: Using the "**Create Custom Field**" button in the message banner (as shown in the previous image) or using the option "**Create a new Jira Custom Field**" in the side menu of the fields on the screen.

Additionally, you can learn more about how to create the [Jira custom fields here](https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/create-a-custom-field/).

### **Creating your Jira custom fields for mapping**

To ensure that the IdP user attributes can be mapped and displayed correctly, you need to use Jira custom fields of type "Read-only", and associate these custom fields correctly in Jira "Issues Screens".

> ℹ️ **Good to know**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ As the Jira custom fields used by the app are read-only, once mapped and populated with data from the IdP, these fields, and values **can be used to create queries, filters, automations, queues**, and whatever else you need.

> ℹ️ **Keep in mind**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - After creating the read-only Jira custom fields, **you must add them to the Jira "Issue Screens" **associated with the projects you want to show these fields mapped with data from the IdPs.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - If you map attributes to custom fields created and **do not associate them** with Jira "Issue Screens",** they will not be displayed**.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - Remember to always add the custom field to both the **Create issue** and the **Edit issue** screen. Otherwise, the synchronization with IdP won’t work.
